First trial completed with flying colours.

Khamsin Warrior trialled today at Rosehill. Graham's assessment of his effort is as follows,

"Our Boy trialled very well at Rosehill today. Beaten into fourth place about four and a half lengths from the winner, a colt fired up and very fit from the Waterhouse stable. They ran the 2nd fastest two-year-old time of the day so it was very meritorious."

"Matthew Palmer rode KW and told me afterwards that there was a lot of improvement still in him; green still but learning fast. Matthew rode him as per instructions from Gerald - 'don't knock him about'."

"He's grown in to a magnificent gelding and I am sure he pleased all owners who came along to see him trial. Another trial in 2 weeks and then into a race, all going well."

Trial Friday

Graham advises that KW will trial this Friday, 30th May at Rosehill in Heat 5 (run at 8.55am). Gerald expects him to run well.

Geoff visited the horse at the stables after he worked this morning and reports that he looks in great shape.

" He was much more animated than last visit and I put this down to him now being near race-fit and therefore not so physically exhausted from his morning exertions. On both occasions I turned up not long after he had worked. I’m looking forward to a bold showing on Friday," he said.

He commented, "On several occasions he stood alert and struck a pose that looked uncannily like…

She's Back

Invincible Spirit (Green Desert-Rafha, by Kris) added a UK group success when 3YO filly Fleeting Spirit (Invincible Spirit-Millennium Tale, by Distant Relative) scored a 2-lengths victory over her older rivals in the £100,000 (A$210,000) Gr2 Temple Stakes (5 furlongs) at Haydock.
Fleeting Spirit (ridden by Ryan Moore for trainer Jeremy Noseda) set a new track record (57.15sec, cutting 1.05sec off the previous mark of 58.2sec) in defeating 6YO gelding Borderlescott ( Compton Place-Jeewan, by Touching Wood) & 8YO gelding Desert Lord (Green Desert-Red Carnival, by Mr Prospector).
Last season as a juvenile, Fleeting Spirit won both the UK Gr2 Flying Childers Stakes (5 furlongs) at Doncaster & Gr3 Molecomb Stakes (5 furlongs) at Goodwood, as well as placing in both the Gr1 Cheveley Park Stakes (6 furlongs) at Newmarket & Gr2 Lowther Stakes (6 furlongs) at York). see also Close relative rated World's 10th top two-year old

Khamsin Warrior continues to please

Graham reports: "The horse is working along great. I saw him this morning and he seems to have grown even more! Gerald is heading The Big Fella to a barrier trial and as soon as I get confirmation from Gerald I will let all owners know."

Goffs Flat Breeze-Up: $73k Invincible Spirit Colt

Agent Bobby O'Ryan paid €43,000 (A$73,000) for a colt by Irish National Stud stallion Invincible Spirit. The colt is a half-brother to 3 winners out of Firth Of Clyde Stakes runner-up Randonneur, consigned from Con Marnane's Bansha House Stables.

O'Ryan told racingpost.co.uk: "I've bought him for Michael Green who is a new owner with David Murray Smith. He is a very nice colt by the right sire & looks a nice prospect."
